DEAN’S MESSAGE

Your Future. Your Focus. Our Commitment.

What if your university experience did more than prepare you for a job? What if it empowered you to anticipate industries that have not yet emerged and equipped you with skills that remain indispensable in an age of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and global disruption?

At the School of Business, Economics and Human Resource Development, these questions guide everything we do.

I am Prof. CPA Arnety Nangila Makokha, PhD, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to a dynamic academic community that is intentionally designed for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century.

Today’s world is evolving at an unprecedented pace. Economies are being reshaped by technology, markets are increasingly interconnected, and organizations are seeking leaders who can balance innovation with ethical responsibility and social impact. Our mission is to prepare graduates who are not only academically grounded but also forward-thinking, adaptable, and capable of shaping the future rather than merely reacting to it.

Our curriculum is developed with this vision in mind. It goes beyond theoretical foundations to cultivate analytical thinking, creativity, and practical problem-solving skills. From emerging issues such as digital finance and algorithmic decision-making to sustainability in global supply chains and strategic communication in a digital age, our programmes are designed to help students interpret complexity and respond to the evolving needs of industry and society.

A key strength of our School lies in our distinguished faculty. Our lecturers and researchers are not confined to the classroom; they are practitioners, consultants, entrepreneurs, and advisors who actively engage with industry, government, and international partners. Their experiences bring valuable real-world insights into teaching, ensuring that our students benefit from both academic excellence and practical perspectives. They are mentors who challenge students to think critically, innovate boldly, and pursue solutions that create lasting impact.

Learning at our School extends far beyond lectures and examinations. Our resource centre provides access to a wealth of scholarly and professional materials, including leading academic journals, market intelligence, and industry research that support both study and innovation. In addition, our mentorship and engagement initiatives connect students with professionals and leaders in their respective fields, providing guidance, networks, and exposure that help translate potential into professional achievement.

We take pride in offering a diverse and future-oriented academic portfolio. Our programmes span areas such as Business Administration, Economics, Human Resource Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Communication and Public Relations, Hospitality and Tourism, and Business Analytics. From our undergraduate degrees to our MBA specializations and postgraduate programmes, each pathway is designed to equip students with the knowledge, resilience, and leadership capacity required in an increasingly complex global environment.

At the School of Business, Economics and Human Resource Development, we believe that education is more than the acquisition of knowledge, it is preparation for purposeful leadership and lifelong impact.

I warmly invite you to join our vibrant community of scholars, innovators, and future leaders. Together, let us pursue excellence, embrace innovation, and shape solutions that will define the future of business and society.

This is not just an education. It is an orientation to the future.

Step in. Stand out. Let excellence be your anchor and your ambition.

Prof. CPA. Arnety Nangila Makokha, PhD.
